The story

What does the blitz version of our podcast production training look like, with a few very special guests? Podcast Lab, our one-day event at the Cinematek theatre in Brussels, was an exploration of how to build strategy-led podcasts that become must-listens in the EU bubble policy comms community. One third learnings about podcast production, one third insights from respected podcasters and one third live podcast production, it brought the Bump team, EU Bubble policy communicators and leading podcasting experts together in a cosy living-room-style setting.

We navigated our Podcast Production Canvas, recommendations on gear, smart format pivots to the classic podcast interview, and learnings on what not to do as a host. The guest list was, to put it mildly, stacked: Evi Kiorri of Euractiv's Beyond the Byline; Sarah-Taïssir Bencharif, MD, formerly of POLITICO Europe and the Toronto Star; James Kanter of EU Scream and former New York Times correspondent; Bethany Meban and Lily Murdoch of SolarPower Europe's Shine on PolicyCast; Tom Moylan of DG Trade's Tradeoff podcast and former European Commission speechwriter; and Rowan Emslie, podcaster and comms director at Clean Air Task Force.
