An open discussion on the Single Market’s role in a competitive and circular EU economy.
The story
Single Market Day was an open discussion on the vital role of the Single Market in driving a competitive and circular EU economy, organised around two focused sessions.
The morning session examined the Single Market as a geopolitical and industrial asset, exploring how a well-functioning and effectively enforced framework can strengthen Europe’s industrial competitiveness, reduce strategic dependencies, and reinforce the EU’s position in an increasingly fragmented global landscape. The afternoon session turned to the role of the Single Market in accelerating the transition to a circular economy, focusing on unlocking cross-border markets for secondary raw materials, ensuring greater harmonisation of rules, and identifying priorities for the then-forthcoming New Circular Economy Act.
